As you can see in the picture I like my steak black in the middle, but I’ve amended the recipe so they come out medium rare.
- 1 Tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon of butter
- Coarse salt
- 1/4 cup of black pepper
- 2 boneless New York strip steaks
- 1 cup of white basmati rice
Cook the rice as directed on the package.
Meanwhile, spread the pepper out on a large plate. Season each with salt and then press into the pepper until it’s covering all sides. Cut the steak into 2-3 inch pieces.
Heat the butter and oil in a skillet over medium high, and cook the steak pieces for about 4 minutes on each side (for medium rare).
