Chicken Carcass Stock__No Sugarless Gum

After roasting a whole chicken, don’t throw away the best part!  The bones and all the meat you were too lazy to pick off can go into making a super easy chicken stock!


      • Chicken carcass (no skin)
      • 2 teaspoons of dried thyme
      • 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
      • 1 bay leaf
      • 8 whole peppercorns
      • 8 cups of water
      • 1/8th teaspoon of Asafoetida Powder
      • 1 teaspoon of salt


Put all the ingredients into a crock pot except for the salt.  Cook on high for 4-5 hours or on low for 8-10 hours.  Add the salt and then strain using a mesh colander into a bowl or large storage container.  Store in the refrigerator for a week or in the freezer for 6 months.
