- 5-6 pounds of Russet or Idaho potatoes
- 1 stick of butter
- 2-3 cups of milk
- Salt and pepper
- Large pot
- Stand or hand mixer and bowl
Peel and quarter the potatoes.
Bring a pot of water to boil and add the potatoes for about 15 minutes.
Drain the water, add the potatoes, melted butter, and salt and pepper into a large bowl. Using a mixer, start mixing the potatoes while slowly adding in the milk. Keep adding milk until the potatoes are nice and creamy but still thick. You don’t want them to be liquidy.
