Fructose Malabsorption Recipes: Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Yogurt

Cookie Dough Yogurt__No Sugarless Gum

This is such an easy treat to make!  The original recipe called it “Cookie Dough Yogurt,” but the name doesn’t really fit–it’s delicious in its own way.

Ingredients

  • 1 small container of Greek yogurt (I used goat yogurt)Cookie Dough Yogurt4__No Sugarless Gum
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter (100% peanuts)
  • 2 tablespoons of dextrose
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Dash of sea salt
  • Mini chocolate chips (optional)

Directions

Mix all ingredients together except chocolate chips.  Add chocolate chips on top.

Elimination Diet safe: No.

  1. Sounds so delicious. But peanuts do contain a big amount of sorbit. So that won’t work for most of the no-fructose-people.

  2. I am so grateful for this site! Thank you!! I was diagnosed 2 months ago w fm;( I’ve lost 25 lbs which now brings me in at a whopping 84 lbs!!! I have seen a few different drs at mn gastro and now go to the penny george institute. I was told I need to gain weight before considering a more specific elimination diet!! Argh…eating and cooking just stress me out!! Ur blog has helped me w planning meals so thank you so very much!! Since I live near St. Paul I was wondering what dietician did ur bloodwork?

    • Ack! 84 pounds?!!! I really hope you are under 4 feet tall! That is really worrisome, and I’m wondering if you are still malabsorbing something? If that’s the case then I think the Mediator Release Test would help you a ton! I spoke with Angie at U of M Fairview and she was really helpful. Here’s her email address: amoedin1@fairview.org. Hopefully she’ll have some ideas on how to proceed with your weight issues as well. Please let me know how things go!
